Bhagwan Dass Arora Charitable Trust was formed on 4th Aug. 1996 to propagate the vision of Sh. Bhagwan Dass Arora, Ex. Minister, Punjab. He had strong belief, dedication and determination to serve the sick and to do memorable service to the cause of medical education.

The trust is successfully running a recognized dental college, 100 bedded multispecialty general hospital in a spreading campus of 19acres at Patiala- Bathinda Road, Sunam. The trust has decided to set up a nursing institute in the name of Guru Nanak Dev Institution of Nursing Education & Research, Sunam, with the aim to bring primary health services within reach of all individuals.

The nursing institute is offering Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. The institute is recognised by Punjab State Govt. Vide letter No. 2/20/03-6HB-III/6394 dated 29-10-04 and PNRC, Chandigarh, which awards diplomas after successful completion of studies and practical experience.

The Nursing Institute will be preparing Nursing Personal to shoulder responsible positions in the professional education.

Its main aim is to educate & train wards as health personal to care for sick people to promote the health and to prevent the illness in the community by recognising their physical, mental & spiritual needs without any consideration of caste, creed and language.
